Plan a cemetery walk

New Niendorf Cemetery has several precisely located cultural, architectural or biographical points that can inform a self-planned visit. They are presented as independent subjects, not as a prescribed sequence.

  • Cemetery chapel: Marker for the mapped object; not a surveyed entrance.
  • Kapelle: Marker for the mapped object; not a surveyed entrance.

These are independent orientation points. Find them on the map below; the information defines no order, distance or duration.

Arrival and orientation

The visitor address is Promenadenstraße 8, 22453 Hamburg.

  • Nebeneingang Sootbörn
  • Haupteingang
  • Nebeneingang Alwin-Lippert-Weg
  • U Niendorf Markt: Check the direction and current timetable before travelling.

Niendorf Markt is the nearby transport interchange at Tibarg. The Alwin-Lippert-Weg entrance serves the communal coffin area in the north; the Sootbörn entrance serves the chapel.

The operator identifies parking for visitors with severe disabilities by the communal coffin area at Alwin-Lippert-Weg. The map also shows public parking areas outside the cemetery; check local signs and conditions.

The address and directions page brings the travel information together. Entrances, public-transport stops and parking places support arrival; they are not presented as cultural or biographical subjects.

Infrastructure on the grounds

  • Toilet

Infrastructure markers indicate position only. If access to a facility is essential, ask Niendorf Protestant parish (shared office at the New Cemetery, Promenadenstraße 8) whether it will be available at the intended time.

Use this information to choose when to visit and keep the relevant exit in mind. A particular grave cannot be inferred from the points above; obtain its section, row and grave number first.
